Gli Invincibili - Grande Torino
Gli Invincibili - Grande Torino
Italianminifig’s “Gli Invincibili” (The Invincibles) minifigures represent Valerio Bacigalupo and Valentino Mazzola: respectively the goalkeeper and the captain of the "Grande Torino", a team which, after writing the history of football, became a legend.
The “Gli Invincibili” kit includes 2 minifigures printed at 360° on original Lego, 2 customized bases, 1 original Lego soccer ball and 1 personalized box with handwritten serial number.
Five Serie A championships won consecutively, 88 consecutive matches without defeat, 125 goals scored in the 1947-1948 season with an average of more than 3 goals per game, a long series of records achieved, full stadiums wherever the Grande Torino played: one of the strongest teams in the history of world football.
Upon returning from a friendly match played in Lisbon, at 5.05pm on 4 May 1949, the crash of the Grande Torino’s plane against the hill of Superga’s church took the entire team away forever.
"Heroes are always immortal in the eyes of those who believe in them. And so the boys will believe that Torino isn’t dead: it’s only playing an away match" (Indro Montanelli).
