Alpino
Alpino
The custom minifigure of the Alpine by Italianminifig is sold with the typical hat with black feather, Alpine stick and cape. The uniform - full of details and printed at 360 ° on an original Lego - is the one supplied in the 40s, during the Second World War. The minifigure is finished by hand: any imperfection or discrepancy between one item and another is not to be considered a defect, but a feature that makes the product a unique piece.
Formed in 1872 within the Italian Royal Army, the Alpini are the oldest mountain infantry corps in the world.
Despite being highly specialized troops to defend the mountain borders of northern Italy, they were often engaged in Africa during the colonial wars of the Kingdom of Italy, such as, for example, during the two-year period 1935-1936.
In June 1940, however, they were deployed on the French border, during the battle of the Western Alps.
Later they were sent to the Greek-Albanian front and in 1942 took part in the offensive against the Soviet Union, framed in the 8th Italian Army or ARMIR.
On the eastern front they were used in the defense of the Don, up to the famous battle of Nikolaevka, with the aim of conquering the village and getting out of the "pocket" of the Don, following the retreat of the Axis forces.
