Historical Italian flags

The Italianminifig historical Italian flags are stickers of the national tricolour.

The Italian flag evolution is closely linked to the history of Italy over the last two centuries. The first tricolour, indeed, dates back to the Napoleonic age when, with the birth of the Cispadana Republic first and then the Cisalpine Republic, the banner with green, white and red bands was officially adopted as a symbol of identity.

The Italianminifig  series of historical Italian flags is composed by:

- the flag adopted by Carlo Alberto di Savoia in 1848: the shield of the House of Savoy was reproduced on the tricolour;

- the flag of the Kingdom of Sardinia (1851-1861) which was later also adopted as the flag of the Kingdom of Italy from 1861 to 1946. The Savoy shield and the royal crown were reproduced on the tricolour;

- the war flag of the Italian Social Republic (1943-1945) with a Roman imperial eagle and a fascist emblem;

- the flag of the National Liberation Committee (1943-1947). A star and the initials CLN were reproduced on the Partisan tricolour;

- the flag of the Italian Republic (1946) with three vertical green, white and red bands.

Each purchasable sheet - which represents a single sales unit - is made up of six die-cut stickers, therefore of six flags. To obtain the flag, it will be necessary to detach the sticker from the sleeve, fold it in half and glue the two adhesive flaps against each other.

The five types of flag can be purchased individually by buying the sheet with the flag of interest. Alternatively, it’s possible to purchase a sheet in which all the historical Italian tricolours are reproduced (flagstick not included in the sales package).

(This product is not a toy: it is not suitable for children under the age of 14, due to the small parts that constitute it. It is a collector's item of historical interest. Each Italianminifig item does not intend to celebrate any authoritarian regime, not intends to foment hatred or a repressive spirit towards freedom and human rights).
