Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Coloniale
The Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Coloniale by Italianminifig is a scale reproduction - mountable and made up of original Lego pieces - of the light tactical military vehicle produced by the Alfa Romeo since 1939. During the Second World War, the car was used as a vehicle reserved for high-ranking officials in the Italian colonies.
The sales package includes:
- A bag containing the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Coloniale assembling pieces (194 pcs., 4 are printed).
- A certificate attesting the authenticity of the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Coloniale, as an Italianminifig product, and that it belongs to a limited edition.
- Assembly instructions.
The car was commissioned by the Ministry of War: based on the civilian Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Turismo, the military version was a torpedo with a reinforced chassis, two spare wheels mounted on the fenders, differential lock and oversized tyres.
From 1941 to 1943, 150 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Coloniale examples were produced for the Italian Royal Army. Another 50 units were built closed because they were destined for the eastern front.
After 8 September 1943, a further 44 standard examples were produced for the Wehrmacht.
During the Saturn operation, the Red Army took possession of some cars on Soviet territory, assigning them to the officers’ transport.
After the end of the war, the Italian Army used the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Coloniale for about a decade more, decommissioning it circa 1955.
