The Italianminifig minifigure represents an Alpino soldier of the Alpine Army Corps, deployed on the Eastern Front during the Russian Campaign (1941–1943). Carefully detailed and printed 360° on genuine Lego parts, the minifigure wears the typical winter uniform with a fur hat featuring the distinctive Alpini insignia, accurately recreated.

The Alpini were key figures in one of the most tragic chapters of World War II: Operation Barbarossa, fighting alongside German troops against the Soviet Union. In particular, during the harrowing retreat from the Don River in January 1943, the Julia, Cuneense, and Tridentina divisions endured extreme conditions—fighting encircled, in freezing temperatures, often on foot and without supplies.

Their heroic resistance and the sacrifice of thousands became a symbol of courage and dedication. Few returned: of the roughly 60,000 Alpini who departed, only half made it back. The Battle of Nikolajewka, on January 26, 1943, became a symbol of Alpini tenacity, where the Tridentina troops broke through the Soviet encirclement with a final, desperate assault.

This minifigure is a tribute to these men: loyal to the mountains, but ready to fight wherever duty called. The unwritten motto of the Alpini, "You shall not pass", followed them to the very end.
