Giuseppe Garibaldi was the undisputed protagonist of the Italian Risorgimento: his contribution was decisive in the process of national unification. His fame goes beyond the Italian borders, in fact he is also known as the "Hero of the Two Worlds", due to his military challenges conducted overseas, in Latin America. He began his international career first embarked on merchant ships, then as an unrestricted master mariner.
